LIFE LATELY – GETTIN’ BUSY WITH IT

Ollia Tea

Can I just say something? I freaking love Summer! Aside from the obvious (beautiful weather and bare legs) I love how busy things get and how everyone just seems to be a lot…well, happier! I have been fully embracing my new found self-employment and have been taking every advantage of this beautiful season. When I’m not sitting at my computer replying to e-mails or typing up my latest blog post you can bet I’m outside soaking up the rays. Heat stroke aside, it’s pretty fabulous.

Ollia Macarons
Now that I don’t have a nine to five job I have found so much more energy being involved with actual blogger things. I recently learned how to…get this…make macarons! Something I’ve always wanted to know how to do and now I’ve finally ticked it off my list. A huge thank you to Ollia Macarons & Tea for hosting our very own #bloggerbakeoff. I can’t even begin to explain how much fun it was, but if you’re interested in a little peek you can check out my Instagram.

In other news, I have a new niece! She was born on June 26th, which is actually my moms birthday too. Her name is Selah, 7lbs 12oz – 22 inches. We can’t wait to meet her but unfortunately she was born with an infection and is now undergoing a run of antibiotics in the NICU. If you could please keep her in your prayers I would be so grateful. We are very eager to meet our sweet little niece and her parents eager to welcome her home!

Last week my younger brother (you know, one of the four) came to see us for a couple of days and we were able to show him around Calgary. I can’t believe it’s been a good three and a half years since we made the move out here and he is the FIRST Savage (family name) to come see us! Somehow I feel like publicly shaming my family might give them the extra nudge to come out here, but I’ll keep you posted. Mom, I hope you’re reading this.

Tonight Steven and I are headed to a denim party hosted by the new local restaurant, Chef Bar, as a pre-Stampede gathering for all the fashion bloggers, stylists, and the like. You can keep an eye out on Instagram or add me to snapchat (lifesetsail) for some behind the scenes stuff if you wish. I think the part I’m most excited for is the fact that I don’t have to cook tonight. If anyone else feels like feeding me, please go right ahead.

What’s everyone else been up to lately?

xx -b.
