As if I couldn’t love lipstick anymore, word on the street is Bite Beauty is coming out with a new, Canada-exclusive maple collection including five different limited edition shades and an agave lip mask, all infused with maple scent. Umm, yum.

The collection is set to launch this July and shades are said to be inspired by the turning of our native maple leaves. I am a huge fan of the matte crème formula as it’s super lightweight, highly pigmented and not at all drying unlike most matte formulas I’ve dealt with. Keep on reading to see how I’ve worn the new Sugared Maple shade.

Bite Beauty Sugared Maple
First of all, I just have to say…look at that colour! I can’t even, it’s just perfect. I think it goes without saying that shades like these are fantastic for drawing out blue eyes, so I’ve played it up even more with a copper toned shadow from the Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in Exposure.

To add a little bit of a sun kissed glow, I used the Fusion Beauty Glow Fusion Bronzer and applied it to my temples, sweeping a lighter amount through to my forehead, bridge of nose and jawline. On my cheeks, I patted a small amount of the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon. I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, but I typically apply a small amount of blush to the bridge of my nose and sometimes even my forehead. It’s a great little trick to create a more natural look, rather than just a punch of colour to the cheeks which can sometimes look a bit fake especially on us pale girls.

On my lashes I’ve used my daily favourite, the Make Up For Ever Smokey Stretch Mascara. I never thought I’d ever love a mascara with rubber bristles, but I’ve been proven wrong with this one. It’s a great product for really getting into the roots of your lashes and the narrower wand makes it a breeze to comb through the lower lashes as well.

Lastly, I’ve touched up my brows with a light brush through of the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe. For some reason I’ve been more drawn to the natural brow look lately, only subtly filling in the sparse spots and then finishing off with a clear brow gel. I think it’s a nice transition into these warmer months as sometimes an obviously bold brow can look a little too intense.

As always, my base today was the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Terre Nueve pairs with the Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly to brighten up my dark circles. What can I say, I’m a creature of habit. Typically I would apply these products with my fingertips, but I love using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge dampened to blend in my face products during the warmer months as it gives a dewier feel to my makeup. If anyone can suggest how to properly clean these sponges, I’m all ears!

Obviously the real stand out in this look is the Sugared Maple lipstick, which I am honestly so in love with. I can definitely see myself wearing this shade a lot in the fall, and even now on evenings out. Now, to get my hands on the rest of the collection.

What do you think of this look? Will you be hunting down any items from the maple collection?
