I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! I’ve been enjoying a little time off (well, from posting anyway haha), but after a few days it just starts to feel a bit weird! Anyone else? What can I say, I just love blogging…but that’s probably a good thing.
Anyway, I couldn’t not share a New Years Eve beauty look with you! After all, NYE is a beauty lovers dream come true. Although I’ve shied away from here, there could not be a better reason to pile on the glitter and really whatever else you feel like slapping on your face. NYE is a time where over the top doesn’t exist, and that’s fine by me.
To me, a night out always seems to translate into a smoky eye and bold lip. Oh my gosh, am I so boring or is this your default party look too?
What better place to start your look than with the Urban Decay NAKED Smoky palette? It just seems like a no brainer these days. But before you get started, I highly suggest laying down a primer on both your lids and face to make sure your makeup takes you through the night. My go-tos are the Urban Decay Primer Potion for lids and the Too Faced Hangover for face.
For lashes I’ve been loving the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening mascara, which is funny because I wasn’t crazy about it at first. I always liked it but it’s recently hit a sweet spot where it is all sorts of amazing!
Of course I think one of the most important things you need in your makeup arsenal for a night out is a high coverage, long wearing foundation. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation does a great job of that.
To top off my look I added some natural flush to my cheeks with the Stila Convertible Colour in Peony which I am having a major moment with right now for it’s ease of use and compatibility with my dry winter skin. To finish, of course I had to go bold on the lips. The Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Afterdark is a gorgeous medium-dark berry pink which is so season-appropriate I can’t even handle it. Berry lip lovers take note.
Once you’ve achieved your perfect NYE look, don’t forget to finish off with a setting spray! I use the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix.
Though there’s not any glitter featured on the face, I definitely made sure to pair my look with a sparkly dress and a couple of statement pieces to dress things up a bit more. I’m currently loving anything and everything from Loren Hope where you can find the necklace and earrings I’m wearing in todays post here and here (get 10% off now with the code SPARKLE.
Do you have a NYE beauty look planned? What are you leaning towards this year?
