THE BEAUTY LOVER TAG

Beauty Lover Tag - Life, Set Sail

When was the last time I published a tag post? It honestly feels like ages! Thanks to my girl Holly for tagging me in this. After all, what beauty blogger doesn’t love to talk about swoon-worthy products? Read on for my tips, inspiration, and of course…indulgences!

1. If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who would it be?
Charlotte Tillbury, hands down. I love her aesthetic and obviously her british ultra-babe clients. Charlotte can turn me into a bombshell any day, I wont mind.

2. What’s your top makeup tip?
Even out winged liner by dipping a short angled brush in makeup remover and dragging along the edges of your wing tips.

3. What one makeup item could you not live without?
Blush. As a pale girl, a pop of colour to the cheeks brings life into your face that no other beauty product can. My favourites include the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat and the Stila Convertible Colour in Peony.

4. What one skincare item could you not live without?
Really any kind of oil or balm. I have very dehydrated skin so I like to slather on as much moisture as I can get.

5. What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
False eyelashes. I don’t wear them enough to have properly gotten the hang of applying them and when I do wear them it takes me ages to get it right.

6. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
When mascara makes my lashes clump together. I can’t stand it. I would rather just forgo mascara all together.

7. What’s your favourite makeup era?
The 60’s. I love watching old (especially French) films from that era and taking it all in. I’m a big fan of the doe-eyed look with Twiggy inspired lashes.

8. What’s your guilty pleasure product?
I don’t feel guilty about any of my pleasures.

9. What’s your underdog product?
Hmmm, I use a lot of smaller brands for skincare but I wouldn’t necessarily call them underdogs, just not well known. I love Salt Spring Soapworks and Too Cool For School for skincare and Vitruvi for body mists and aromatherapy oils.

10. What’s your favourite makeup product of 2015?
For a beauty blogger this is probably the worlds hardest question! I’m gonna go with the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Coverage Foundation. I’ve never in my life been a foundation wearer until I tried this stuff and now I can’t seem to get enough of it! I apply it with a damp Real Techniques sponge and it gives the most lovely, natural looking finish. I could go on and on about this one.

    • Please do! And oh man, totally agree, she is amazing! She also just seems like a really fun person. I would LOVE to meet her one day! She DOES follow me on Twitter so maybe I have an “in” lol…probably not 😉 xx

      • What?? Go girl :) I’m not a Twitter person, but I would consider becoming one if she followed me.

        • I can’t even imagine why she does but I’m certainly not complaining lol.

    • Thank you Isabelle! So sweet of you to say, I’m glad my efforts are not in vain lol. Let me know if you end up doing the tag! xx

  • Great post Brittany! I’ve always cleaned up my winged liner with a wet Q-Tip, but it takes off the concealer too, so will be switching to your technique for sure! As for number 8, well put, and I wish I could say the same. Please, teach me your ways oh confident one! Pleasure without guilt often evades me…

    • Thank you! Ahh, yes, you have to try it! It’s so much more efficient than the Q-Tip method! Though, sometimes it does remove a little of your other makeup so I’ll just pat in some concealer if it’s really noticeable. The only times I feel guilty about my pleasures is the times when I eat an entire bag of Haribo Goldenbears…then I just feel plan sick lol. Can’t wait to see you soon! xx

      • Funny timing – just ate a stupid amount of candy. Doh! Will be sure to make up for it by eating lots of pizza on Friday. Haha! 😉
