RITAS - Life, Set Sail

What is it about drinking things that brings people together? Whether it be coffee or margaritas, having something to partake in together always seems to alleviate social awkwardness…even if you’re already friends with someone, time and time again, we are always meeting people over drinks.

Though going out is certainly fun, I’ve always been a fan of drinking at home. Obviously it’s much more affordable, but simply being in the comfort of your own home, inviting over a friend or two, and not having to worry about driving anywhere afterwards are all big wins in my opinion.

I’ve had many inspiring conversations lately over drinks and, as a creative person, that is very important to me. You can’t (or at least I can’t) stay inspired by sitting in front of a computer screen all day. There is definitely something to be said for human interaction…I guess that’s why relationships are so important (duh Brittany). It is very easy for me to get stuck in my own head, so taking some time to let my thoughts out (and listen to others) is very therapeutic.

So what do you need for a successful night in? Well…drinks obviously. My fridge has been stocked most of the summer with the new Bud Lime-a-Rita offerings (both the watermelon and strawberry flavours are firm favourites). What can I say, they’re easy and taste delicious! If you want to dress things up a little, just pour them into some cute glasses and top with citrus, done. Of course what evening would be complete without some great tunes? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. My Fresh ’16 playlist on Spotify includes a ton of new music that you (likely) wont hear on the radio…what I’m saying is, there is no way you can already be sick of any song on that playlist.

  • I just stumbled across your blog and wanted to share how beautiful I think it is! The photography is perfection and your honesty, refreshing. And yes, those glasses are everything! So sad I found you so late, I’m sure they’ve sold out!

    • Awwwe thank you so much! Happy to have you and so glad you are enjoying what I do :) xx

  • Beautiful post, Brittany & Justine! I love the crispness and the colour in these shots and the simple styling. I’m also swooning over your glassware! Hopefully I’ll see you ‘over drinks’ soon! It’s been awhile — hope you’re well and enjoying your summer. :) Cheers!

    • Thanks Justine! Oh my gosh, I just picked them up from West Elm and I am literally about to go grab a couple more haha! I’m obsessed. Also, YES! Let’s hang out, you let me know when you’re free and we’ll plan a girl date 😉 xx

      • I’d love to get together for a girl date! This upcoming week is pretty busy for me, but why don’t you shoot me an email when you’re back from Palm Spring and we can catch up — I’d love to hear about your adventures! Also, I’m going to pop by West Elm today to check out the sale — I could spend my life savings there! Have a great weekend, Brittany!

  • These photos are so fresh and summery! I’m sad the babe inhibits me from throwing back a bevy or two because these drinks look delicious!!! Enjoy!

    • Waaaah! Not fair at all. Well…there’s always juice I guess 😛
