What is it about drinking things that brings people together? Whether it be coffee or margaritas, having something to partake in together always seems to alleviate social awkwardness…even if you’re already friends with someone, time and time again, we are always meeting people over drinks.
Though going out is certainly fun, I’ve always been a fan of drinking at home. Obviously it’s much more affordable, but simply being in the comfort of your own home, inviting over a friend or two, and not having to worry about driving anywhere afterwards are all big wins in my opinion.
I’ve had many inspiring conversations lately over drinks and, as a creative person, that is very important to me. You can’t (or at least I can’t) stay inspired by sitting in front of a computer screen all day. There is definitely something to be said for human interaction…I guess that’s why relationships are so important (duh Brittany). It is very easy for me to get stuck in my own head, so taking some time to let my thoughts out (and listen to others) is very therapeutic.
So what do you need for a successful night in? Well…drinks obviously. My fridge has been stocked most of the summer with the new Bud Lime-a-Rita offerings (both the watermelon and strawberry flavours are firm favourites). What can I say, they’re easy and taste delicious! If you want to dress things up a little, just pour them into some cute glasses and top with citrus, done. Of course what evening would be complete without some great tunes? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. My Fresh ’16 playlist on Spotify includes a ton of new music that you (likely) wont hear on the radio…what I’m saying is, there is no way you can already be sick of any song on that playlist.
