If there’s one thing I’ve been slacking on this year (and last year if I’m being honest) it’s reading. Now I’m a big reader when I find the right book but as soon as I finish I get distracted by something else…and by something else I mean my latest Netflix obsession.

The most difficult thing I find about reading is that it leaves no room for distraction. Sometimes my multitasking mind simply can’t calm down enough to focus on one single thing. I honestly feel like it’s a curse of my generation and a habit that I’d like to practice breaking!

Although I’m slooowly making my way through my current read (Station Eleven), I already have four others lined up and I couldn’t be more excited! If you’re curious about which books, they are We Were Liars, Same Same, Everything Is Illuminated, and Crazy Rich Asians.

I find reading is like exercising for me…I’m horrible at keeping up with it, but after a few tries it’s much easier to get back in the routine (and it makes me feel a whole lot better too)! Reading is good for my mind, is relieves stress, and helps me relax before bedtime. There are so many benefits and as I sit here writing about them it makes me wonder why I don’t read more often!

Do you struggle to keep your mind on one task? Whether it be reading or something else, I’m curious to hear what you guys have to say! And let me know if you have any book recommendations while you’re at it!!
