I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who crushed Emily in Paris in a single day! While the storyline may have been somewhat lacking, I think we were all pretty impressed with the costume design in this show (and Gabriel too perhaps)…
Some of Emily’s outfits were a little too out-there for me but, even still, I both appreciated and was amused by Patricia Fileds’ styling (hello Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada). After shopping my own closet, I recreated my version of Emily’s style (which is a lot safer but still chic).
I started with a cream coloured romper that I bought at Aritiza years ago and layered this mustard yellow Zara sweater on top. I think the sleeves of the sweater make it extra special and the cable-knit detailing on the front is a nice nod to the Holiday season. The Reserve boot from Stuart Weitzman was a splurge purchase from last year (though I was able to score them on sale). I love wearing these boots in the Fall and Winter because they are tall enough to basically be pants…right? Luckily, for me, we have had an incredibly mild winter in Calgary so far!
To top off the look, I wore my Eugenia Kim Marina Hat which I purchased at Saks a couple years ago. I feel like I fall in love with this hat over and over again everytime the weather starts to cool down. Spending a little extra on acessories that I love will always be worth it to me (especially those that don’t easily fall out of style).
Big thanks to Emily for shooting these photos with me! The Fairmont Palliser was the perfect location for this look and I’m so pleased with how everything turned out! What did you think of Emily in Paris? Were you totally hooked or thought it was a little over the top?
