Who’s sick of the lob haircut? I’ll admit…I kind of am! I’m really getting tired of seeing it everywhere I go, especially having friends that all share the same obsession I do with the ombré tipped chop. It wasn’t until I sat in my hairstylists chair this morning that I thought, screw it, I’m getting one anyway! In fact, until today I was starting to grow my hair out for Fall, but there are many reasons I can’t give up the lob and it has almost nothing to do with the fact that it’s trendy.

As someone who has almost always had long hair, chopping my locks off to a chin length bob last Winter was probably one of the most outrageous things I’ve done. I’m a real risk-taker guys. While I loved it for a time, it wasn’t until it turned into shoulder skimming lob that I truly fell in love.

For us fine-haired ladies, a lob is a thing of dreams…add a blunt cut to the mix and you’re golden. So why is it so great? Aside from the fact that it’s still long enough to have options, my hair has never looked fuller! The lob gives my hair the volume I’ve always wanted it to have but could never obtain because, well, I had too much hair weighing it down. What’s more is that the shorter look is a breeze to style. Blowdrying gets done in a fraction of the time and a good shot of texturizing spray instantly transforms my hair into a look so effortlessly chic that any stranger would think I’m much cooler than I actually am.

So although it may be the most popular haircut to have right now, I don’t think I’ll be giving up the lob anytime soon. A big thanks to my sis-in-law Hailey who always makes my hair dreams come true! What do you think? Are you over this trend yet?
