Things don’t get much more timeless than the classic blue blazer. An iconic piece to say the least, the navy blue blazer is so versatile that it can be paired with numerous items you likely already have in your closet. Today I have styled my favourite new release from local fashion designer, Anneke Forbes.
I am completely obsessed with the attention to detail Anneke has shown in this piece. The covered (and functional) buttons, pockets, adorable gingham piping in lining, all complete with an inner pocket just big enough for your phone, wallet, or lipgloss. No detail is forgotten. The fabric, a light cotton/linen blend is perfect for keeping the evening breeze off your shoulders this Summer and is one that can be dressed up or down for whatever occasion.
Today I’ve styled Anneke’s blazer in a very ladylike and modern way. I love the contrast of the navy blue with the lighter neutrals (girl loves neutrals). The beaded Free People top and CoutuKitsch statement necklace, while together are quite dressy, are given a slightly more edgy vibe paired with ripped Black Orchid jeans.
What do you think of this look? I’ve actually styled this particular blazer another way which I will be sharing next week, so be sure to keep an eye out for my Lady In Red post.
A big thank you to Justine for snapping these photos and Adorn Boutique for helping me style Anneke’s blazer with their wonderfully feminine pieces.

August 11, 2015 at 8:48 AMI must say the fashion designer in me is a tad jealous over this fabulous jacket, how well I remember trying to perfect the notched collar in pattern class at FIDM so many moons ago! I also love how she styled the pockets and covered buttons, looks like a Linen blend?? you did a great job pairing it with lighter colors for Summer, would love to see this jacket again styled for Fall…great job B & Anneke!

August 11, 2015 at 9:28 AMIsn’t it beautiful!? Even I’m jealous and I only ever got as far as stitching together old clothes…remember that denim skirt I added a vintage floral ruffle to? I would wear it ALL the time despite the poor craftsmanship haha. The material is a linen and cotton blend. I did style it one more way that I’ll be sharing next week, though I think it may be a little too lightweight to be for Fall 😉 xx

August 11, 2015 at 3:02 AMOk I like the blazer but I am CRAZY about those shoes! I love a little bit of vintage peep toe realness. xx

August 10, 2015 at 12:40 PMAhhh, me too, I am ecstatic! Your jacket is amazing and just makes me that much more eager to see what you come up with next. I feel like this shoot was exactly what I always dreamed my blog would be. The soft feminine look of everything is just too perfect! I can’t even. So sad that Justine’s talent is not my own…or Steven’s haha. Looking forward to getting the CrossIron one done tomorrow 😉 xx

August 10, 2015 at 11:43 AMGorgeous look, looks smart and sophisticated, so pretty. Every time I see your hair I want to cut mine all off too, hair envy. xx

August 10, 2015 at 12:12 PMWhy thank you! Haha, it’s funny because ever since I cut it I always feel like it gets long so quickly…then I see myself in photos and I’m like, nah it’s still good! I love how easy shorter hair is to maintain. Then again, long hair will always have a special place in my heart, however crazy it might make me 😉 xx
