There’s only a couple of things I get excited about with the arrival of Fall, which of course includes cozy layers and comfort foods, but today we’re talking all about a new skincare routine! Am I the only one that looks forward to a slew of new products to slap on my face? I mean the Caudalie brand reviews have gotten me pretty excited, regardless, I wanted to share a post dedicated to skincare and how you can transition your daily regimen to something that’s more appropriate of the season. Keep reading for a list of my favourite products to hydrate and nourish your skin this Fall.

Hydrate + Nourish - Fall Skincare - Life, Set Sail
Vitruvi - Hydrate + Nourish - Life, Set Sail
It’s so important to switch things up not just as the seasons change but as your needs change as well. During the drier months I make sure to up the hydration factor with more creams and oils rather than a simple light moisturizer. On top of that I make sure I’m lightly exfoliating once or twice a week to slough away dry, flaky skin.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Elixer
Already a fan of the Wild Rose Beauty Balm, I instantly fell in love with this offering by NYR! It’s a serum that you apply before moisturizer morning and night and leaves your skin with a healthy, radiant glow. The formula is ultra nourishing (and lightly exfoliating) with hyaluronic acid, wild rose hip oil, brightening turmeric, an anti-aging peptide, and pure essential oils of frankincense and geranium. I’ve been using this everyday for the past month or so and can’t get enough of it. Even the smell, which is like that of the Beauty Balm, is instantly calming and addictive. Note to fellow locals, you can find NYR locally at their Canadian flagship store right here in Calgary!

Aerin Rose Oil
This rose oil is my ultimate luxury product for Fall (think Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse). It’s a multi-use oil for skin and hair with a gorgeous rose fragrance. I love to run a little bit of this through the ends of my hair and on my hands, feet, and elbows before bed as the scent is super relaxing and calming. This is one product that I could use up in a month if I wanted to, but I’m being good and using it strictly as a treat for now. Ahh, I can’t wait for bed.

Saltspring Soapworks Lavender and Sage Toner
This facial mist is ultra soothing with aloe vera, lavender, and dalmatian sage. The perfect addition to any skincare routine. Saltspring Soapworks is based in my hometown and provide the most wonderful all natural skincare. If you’re interested in getting an order shipped internationally be sure to give them a call, they are very friendly crowd and always happy to help! I also really love the Skin-Renewing Serum as a treat in the evenings or if I’m just at home all day and want an extra boost of hydration. But seriously, it’s all fantastic.

Verso Day and Night Creams
As I said, when Fall approaches I switch out my lotions for creams, and it could seriously not be easier with the Verso Skincare offerings. I love that although these formulas are indeed creamy, they are more milky than thick. Both include Retinol 8 to help stimulate the natural production of collagen, resulting in fresher, younger looking skin. And the smell, oh the smell. It’s just plain delightful. Definitely a high price point, but those of you willing to shell out will absolutely fall in love with Verso, hands down.

Vitruvi Body Mists and Aromatherapy Oils
I have quickly fallen in love with Vitruvi for their organic, custom blended essential oils. Meant to be used throughout the day, Vitruvi offers both face and body mists as well as rollerball aromatherapy oils. The MOVE Aromatic Tonic is great for sore muscles, with a warming/cooling sensation and ingredients including black pepper, lime, and peppermint. The Balance Oil helps reduce tension by using a calming blend of fennel, lavender, and peppermint oils. Because what would a great skincare routine be without some mental nourishing as well?

How do you change up your skincare routine for the seasons?

All of these products look and sound amazing! I simply add more moisture to my routine. I love making my own masks and using oils to hydrate the skin.

Couldn’t agree more than you need to change your skin care when Autumn comes because the cold just kills my skin haha. I love a good oil, I was so worried at first but they actually work so well xx

Oils are my favourite to use in A/W, I feel that they help to hydrate your skin a little bit more than a moisturiser xx

I have been living in Los Angeles for about a year and a half now (originally from the East Coast) and there are no seasons out here…its just dry and hot. But I have oily skin so I literally try to keep my skin as dry as possible, which is probably not a good thing. I have always been wanting to use a skin oil, but I am so worried that my face will look like an oil slick within a few hours…

I know a lot of people who have these fears! In reality, oils are great for oily skin – you should just google it, there is seriously so much information.
