If you’ve been following along on my snapchat (lifesetsail) or social media (and hey even a little here on the blog), you’ll have noticed I’ve been a bit secretive about things lately. Clearly there have been some changes in my life…well, let’s talk about the past month.

Stella & Dot - Life, Set Sail
When Steven and I came back from a business trip in Berlin we were under the impression that we’d actually be moving there. Things were still a little up in the air with much to sort out, but we legitimately thought that this was something that was happening and that we’d better wrap up loose ends here to prepare for our next great adventure!

Steven left for a week to go on yet another business trip to Iceland and I was left to deal with all of our (excuse my French) shit. I sold all of our furniture and got rid of probably about 70% of what we owned. It was stressful and yet a little bit amazing downsizing our life like that.

Well as it happens, we are not moving to Berlin after all. Way to throw our life through the ringer! Although this was something we were both very excited about, we are both more than happy to keep on living in Calgary for the time being. I love the community here and although, sure, it’s not Europe, it is not without its charms.

I get to stay here and keep working with people I admire. I don’t have to say goodbye to some pretty amazing friends (or my favourite taco joint), and Steven’s family lives here too. There is absolutely nothing to be upset about…well maybe the fact that I sold the worlds most comfortable mattress, but I’ll get over it.

So while we look for a new place to live (that’s right, we are currently homeless and living with my in-laws), I look forward to a fresh start somewhere else! I have a few stipulations…one, that it be somewhere in the heart of the city where I can just walk places or take transit and two, no more basement suites (or suburbs). I don’t think that’s too much to ask for, do you?

Also, completely off topic, but how cute is the new Spring 2016 line from Stella & Dot!? I’m wearing some of their collection above and I love it. Those pieces are just begging for a Mexican vacation…so, who wants to send me? For now I guess I’ll just have to settle for my halfy hour margaritas.

    Uh, Ohmygosh. What?!!

First of all, I’m sorry that things didn’t pan out with you and Steven moving to Germany. That would’ve been incredible and of course, I would’ve been a nice little surprise when you got there and opened your suitcase (ha ha ha). But seriously. Things all happen for a reason (and all that), so this just means that you both are onto bigger and better things!

Good luck with moving, and hey! We’ll be in the same boat since the foundation in our apartment complex is like, falling apart so Phil and I will be homeless too! How fun! 😉
