One of my absolute favourite things about Palm Springs is the plethora of adorable boutique hotels it offers, case in point, the Skylark hotel. We had the pleasure of doing some work with the tourism board while down south and one of the places they sent us was this hotel, and I’m so glad they did…
The Skylark was such a pleasant stay for us during our whirlwind trip for it’s very central location, picture-perfect pool area, and gracious host…but it may surprise you that our favourite feature was the beds…how odd, I usually can’t wait to get home from a long trip and stay in my own bed! But (and Justine will agree), the beds at the Skylark are literally the thing of dreams. What a refreshing change!
Originally built in 1955, the Skylark Hotel was frequented by some of my favourite old hollywood stars including Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis…Some Like It Hot anyone? I love the pool area, with it’s brightly coloured lounge chairs, twinkle lights, and that view! I could honestly get lost just staring at the mountains all day.
Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate off-seasons? Sure, not many people want to spend the day travelling around in forty degree weather, but off-seasons mean cheaper rates (whether it be a hotel or an attraction) and no line-ups, which means more peace and relaxation for you!
Have you ever spent time in Palm Springs? I’d love to know where you stayed! Next time you’re planning a trip I definitely recommend taking some time to explore the boutique hotels, so charming!
